Day 2 – Monday 11th January 2010
The hot weather graced us with its presence again today, but even through the catastrophic conditions we soldiered on. This morning’s animation presented us with the Ethiopian and the journey and celebration of baptism. We then headed off to our first and second workshop rotations of the week before a group of us headed for the beach. Those who did not want to brave the extreme heat stayed back to watch movies and play cards. After a feast of pasta, chocolate mousse, cheesecake and fruit salad, we headed down to the chapel for the first of the night prayers facilitated by the purple group – the call of the disciples. Their gospel enactment showcased their many talents.
‘Disaster Chef’ and ’So you think you can dance’ were a huge success with the five teams battling it out in the kitchen and on the dance floor. Some notable Disaster Chef mentions – Damo kicking a masterpiece over just before being served up to the judges, coving pink team from head to toe; and green team taught us that no matter how hard you try orange, cinnamon and Greek yoghurt just do not mix. So you think you can dance brought out the best and worst including Vincent’s amazing break dancing, Aaron and Chris’ ballet moves and the Oblate talent. Congratulations to the pink team our overall champions of the evening.
Overall it was another successful day even under difficult conditions. We are looking forward to the cool change promised tonight and another fantastic day tomorrow. Thanks for the emails, keep them coming.
